Welcome to Hobbs Alternative School
AEP Program
The Hobbs Alternative School AEP program provides a self-paced curriculum that addresses the student’s academic deficiencies and strengths. Student's work is self paced and students are able to progress at a rate directly proportional to their effort and achievement. All curriculum is TAKS-based in order to prepare the students for state mandated tests. The curriculum is designed by the teacher so that each student is provided with an individual education plan for success.

DAEP Program
The DAEP setting is designed first and foremost to meet the academic needs of the student. Also, DAEP is a very structured environment that encourages self-discipline and accountability in the areas of academics and social skills. Our goal is for the student to be able to return to his home campus and to not have digressed academically. Due to the structure and routine of the DAEP setting, students should be prepared to return to their home campuses and comply with all guidellines and rules.

“Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must first set yourself on fire." - -Fred Shero
“A child is not a vase to be filled, but a fire to be lit”
“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” - - William Butler Yeats
| “I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position. Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope. When my attitudes are right, there is no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me.” |
